Frequently asked questions

Can't find an answer? Send us your question.

Which operating systems are supported?

SnippetPilot is currently available for 64-bit Windows 10 and later, as a signed installer, a portable ZIP and through Microsoft Store. macOS and Linux editions have not been released.

Where is my snippet data stored? Is it uploaded to the cloud?

All snippets are stored locally by default and the app works fully offline. You can back up the data folder yourself, or place it inside your own sync folder.

What are global variables?

Global variables are placeholders you can reference in any snippet — a signature, a project name, a date. Update the value once and every snippet that references it stays in sync.

What is the quick panel and how do I open it?

The quick panel is a floating window summoned with a global hotkey. Type a keyword to find a snippet, press Enter to copy or paste it directly — without leaving your current app. The hotkey is customizable in Settings.

How does instant capture work?

Anything you copy to the clipboard is saved into your library automatically, so a snippet you meant to keep is never lost. Open the library whenever you like to name it, tag it or throw it away.

How do I get updates?

Watch the Updates page, or simply download the latest installer from the Download page and install it over your current version — your data is preserved.

Why does Windows or my browser warn about the download?

SnippetPilot's Windows installer is code-signed, but Microsoft Defender SmartScreen and browsers may still warn while a new publisher certificate or download builds reputation. Download only from this site or Microsoft Store, verify the displayed publisher and SHA-256, and do not bypass a warning if those details do not match.

I found a bug or have a feature request. What should I do?

Send it through the Feedback page. Leave your email if you would like a reply.
